Jim Garland is an entrepreneur, business owner, author, professional speaker and business consultant. He started his first company Sharp Details, Inc. from the trunk of his car as a boat cleaning service in 1991. Today Sharp Details, Inc provides corporate aircraft cleaning and support services to fortune 100 companies, has 60 employees and produces over $3,500,000 in annual revenue
An avid reader and student of self development, health and business concepts, Jim has compiled a library of books, tapes, and CDs on the subjects of entrepreneurship, financial freedom, wellness, the law of attraction, and success. This is what has led Jim to develop Garland Communication, LLC and the concept and realization of The Practical Guide to Exceptional Living. “There is an endless amount of information out there on the topics covered in this book. I have condensed all of that information, highlighted the most important areas of self development, incorporated my own concepts and pack it into 148 easy-to-read pages.”
Jim graduated from Radford University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics. He completed The E-Myth Mastery Program on entrepreneurship in 1999, and attended the Strategic Coach® Program from 2001-2005 where he learned the concepts that have given him the ability to take off 10-weeks per year.
Jim currently lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife Carrie and his four children, Bayley, Ellie, Jack, and Benjamin. Jim enjoys spending time with his a family, travelling, surfing, golfing with his friends, staying in shape and cooking. He is the founder and President of Sharp Details, Inc., the founder and Principal of Garland Communication, LLC., the author of The Practical Guide to Exceptional Living and the creator of his live presentation The Predictable Future™.

In 1994 Jim repositioned his company to aircraft cleaning and now serves the flight departments of many top corporations in the world. Sharp Details, Inc. has grown into one of the premier companies of its kind in the United States. Operating in seven states throughout the East Coast, Sharp Details, Inc. employs over 60 people and cleans up to 400 aircraft per month. Sharp Details, Inc. is also a long time member of the NBAA (National Business Aircraft Association) and Jim currently serves on the board as the Treasurer for the GWBAA (Greater Washington Business Aviation Association). Jim’s experience running a company that handles $40,000,000 aircraft, operates 24x7x365 and employs people in many different locations has given him the strategies and concepts that are described in his book.

When Jim announced the release of “A Practical Guide to Exceptional Living” I was eager to give it a read and was not disappointed. The book, which could have easily been titled ” An Exceptional Guide to Practical Living” is insightful, well written and gives the reader ‘food for thought’ as one looks at the simple changes, often overlooked, which can make our daily lives easy to manage and our future goals easily achieved.
