The Entrepreneurial Idea: In 25 words or so, please highlight why readers should care about this Ethan Award nominee.

Gerry Czarnecki is also known as “The Leadership Czar” because of his dedication to helping leaders maximize their potential and achieve peak performance

Please describe the creative and entrepreneurial achievements of the Ethan Award nominee:

Gerry Czarnecki is the co-founder of The National Leadership Institute (NLI), Chairman of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Florida Chapter, President & CEO of O2 Media,  and the Chairman, CEO of The Deltennium Group, nationally recognized for offering leadership consulting, career coaching, financial planning and investment management services.

With over 40 years of experience as a leader, C level and senior executive in Fortune 100 companies, privately held companies, closely held public companies and large and small non-profits worldwide, Gerry has been consistently committed to sharing his experience and vision by coaching organizations to achieve peak performance through effective leadership, focused strategy, superior organization and sound financial management. His enlightening management philosophy has led to the writing of his books:

“Success Principles for Leaders”, “You’re in Charge…what now?”, “You’re a non-profit director…what now?” and his most recent creation, “Lead with Love”, which publish April, 2010.

There have been 3 key skills that have been instrumental in Gerry’s successes to date:

Gerry’s unique approach towards leadership has distinguished him in the leadership world. Gerry believes in leading with love.  This concept goes even further to say that you shouldn’t even like your employees! Loving them is the only way to really bring your organization to its maximum potential.

Gerry explains; “when you like someone, you leave room for biases.  You either like or dislike them.  But if you love those employees as human beings, you are going to do what’s right for that organization to succeed.  There will be no biases in the way.”

Gerry writes weekly and monthly newsletters which highlight his innovative leadership style, answer’s subscriber questions, spotlight other Leadership Guru’s and review leadership books.

What does the nominee have in store for the next 5 years? How will it shape the nominee’s industry, the world of business or our culture at large? Please focus this answer around the nominee’s vision for the future and his/her specific plans for achieving these goals:

During the next Five years, Gerry plans to write a wide range of monographs and several more books on Leadership and Marketing. He truly wants to be able to continue to help others learn from his own commitment to lifelong learning. He has pursued knowledge in the academic community and in the world of the practical exercise of work and has great passion to continue to learn and pass on that learning.

As CEO and co-owner of a company known as O2 Media, Inc., he practices his Leadership principles, every day. But, in addition, he and his highly talented associates are building a new type of Media company in order to capitalize on the changes in the branding, direct response marketing, advertising and content creation world. Those changes are being driven by the digital revolution and before the next five years are finished, nothing in the world of media will be the same. He has spent his life managing change, and right now, the media is an industry experiencing more change than the total of all his previous experiences combined.

In addition, Gerry believes that our culture is experiencing great change, and also a conflict of ideas. He has strong views about what made America great, what must change and what must be preserved. He believes the future of our country is at stake, and he will fight to assure that the ideals, principles and values that he believes made our society great, are understood and sustained.

Received it last week and read it this past holiday weekend. I was almost disappointed that it was a long weekend and I had to wait to get back to my office until Tuesday. There were so many ideas of Gerry’s that I wanted to begin applying to my team.

This book is not just another collection of leadership advice. It is a roadmap of principles and beliefs about people that form the very basis for a dynamic and positive personal leadership style that people will genuinely feel and appreciate … a style of leadership that unleashes the very best in people and maximizes their contributions and connection to their organization. It is not a book simply to read … it is a book to study and apply.
