Jay Myers deserves to win this award because noone else wants it more than he does. For reasons unknown, his entry on the Ethan Awards site has been plagued with technical difficulties which have affected his fans’ ability to vote. However, Jay has been patiently persistent in communicating his desire to win this award. We’ve been thoroughly impressed by his energy. My vote goes to Jay.

Jay’s story of leadership, perseverance and hard work resonates with all of us that strive to be successful business owners; a great employers and one to give back to their community. Jay is very involved in “giving back.” I have personally witnessed his willingness to share with other’s his time and talents. Most business owers would love to have their employee’s loyalty and dedication that ISI (Jay) has. That speaks volume to both his character as a leader and to how he values them and their customers. Anyone would be proud to call themselves an ISI employee, customer or a friend of Jay Myers. Love, love, love Keep Swinging!

Jay’s book “Keep Swinging” is a truly inspirational book that shows the commitment he made to his business when he was faced with extreme adversity. Jay always puts people first and he genuinely cares about them. He has shown this by how he treats his employees and customers. He has also shown great support for his community. He serves as a mentor and guest speaker to many colleges to include the University of Memphis where I work and where he is an alumnus. Jay supports the U of M financially and with his time. The bottom line is Jay knows what helped him become successful and he wants to share that knowledge with others to help them become successful. I wish him the best of luck in winning the Ethan Award!

I’d like to nominate Jay Myers for a different reason.
I’ve known Jay since 1972. I went to high school with Jay. He was the Best Man at my wedding.
From his days as an Eagle Scout, I’ve watched him honor his parents, instill an incredible set of core values in both his children and stare down adversity that would have wiped out any other human being.I’ve watched him handle the death(s) of loved ones, serious illness of one of his children, and the thievery of an employee of his that almost took down his entire company.He survived all this due to sheer guts, an unshakable faith and an integrity that to this day simply blows me away.
The only thing more amazing to me than the book is the author.

A great example that true hard work, perseverence and leadership are often behind what may appear on the surface to be good luck and overnight success.

I can understand the book. Everyone has tried and failed in their lives, everyone has trusted and lost, and as the book points out, everyone should try again. It’s not a fairy tale, too good to be true or unattainable for the average person. The book is believable plus it tells how. I can handle that.

“Keep Swinging” is a great read and as an entrepreneur myself I found many of the experiences and anecdotes Jay wrote about to really reasonate with me personally and while I came away more knowledgeable I was also smiling from familiarity!

Jay Myers has written a very personal account of life in the trenches for the entrepreneur. I’ve heard him speak in front of an audience and seen that audience listen with rapt attention while he expanded on several points found in his book. In addition, I know first hand the kind of professionalism he demands from his workers. I have been a customer of his for about ten years and can think of no one I would rather handle my communication needs that Interactive Solutions. I have several of his colleagues listed on my cell phone for emergencies, and know that I will get first class service on any day of the week…including Sunday, if necessary. That’s the kind of service he provides for his clients.

Jsy Myers provided an an excellent account of his entrepreneurial journey. After reading his book, I felt his story had a powerful message to other entrepreneurs. The lessons learned regarding internal controls and other operational processes were meaningful. I also found the support his family provided during a very difficult time was an important message. I met Jay last year at the annual CEO Conference in Chicago and I am so glad we had a chance to talk. Jay Myers has my vote.

As a small business owner myself, Jay’s story hit him on how one has to deal with adversities that you’d never think could occur. We almost have to plan for failure as a back up plan.

Owning a small business I feel the same pain Jay describes in his book. He caused me to look at some things differently that helped.

Jay’s story is incredible – brutally honest and gripping. He’s also a great business man and person – he’s the real deal!

Jay’s book was great for a kid like me entering the workforce in tough economic times! Jay has been knocked down several times but continues to dust himself off and rise above adversity which is very inspiring. “Keep Swinging” teaches you that there are rough patches along the way but they are nothing that can’t be dealt with if you stay focused and work hard.

Jay has done an outstanding job in writing this book. It should be required reading for anyone starting a new business, or for that matter anyone running an existing business in today’s difficult environment. High Five, Jay.

I recently attended an event where Jay was a speaker. He was dynamic and his honesty was refreshing. I enjoyed reading his book and even though I am not a business owner I think there are several messages to take away.

As a small business owner and entrepreneur there are many days when I feel the feeling of “why me” and wonder why there are so many endless obstacles to try to overcome. After I read Keep Swingin it inspired me to not be a cry baby and to get back out there, dust myself off and get past it. Reading how ISI ended up in the end is just the carrot on the stick I need to keep me going after my dream.

I received this book from a friend of mine that is a small business owner. He had read it and couldn’t stop talking about it so i decided I would read it. I couldn’t put it down. Took a look at this book at a book signing and decided to take a chance and read it. WOW! Thought it would be just another one of those how to do it business books but it is far from that. This is an impowering story of

One reason Jay Myers book is a winner. He gets it. After everything he and his company has gone through, he never quit. Jay seems to understand it’s about the relationships and people. He should have been a statistic in the business world, but now he and his company are national leaders. Many have hit home runs in their life time, but none have ripped it out of the park like this book. It has definitely shined a new and welcome light for me.

Starting with reading the greens, which may attribute to the round winning 75 foot put I made. I was more than impressed with Mr. Myers’ book. I have never read a business book that has a story line, especially one that was a true life story. I read the book, “Keep Swinging”. It was unusual in that fact that Jay Myers told about the bad things that happened to him as well as the good. Most business people don’t want every one to know about the bad things that go on in their companies. I was very glad that I read this book it had so much to learn and was very interesting. I finally got a chance to read Mr. Myers’ book this weekend. I wanted to start all over and read it again as soon as I finished. I was so impressed and it was so emotional. This book is great and lets his secret out. He is a really fine humam being that has a heart for his family and the people that work for him. It also shows his strengeh and ethics. He is an entreprenuer, that is for sure. What an outstanding book. It will be of help to anyone that reads it.

As a student I was able to hear Jay’s story first hand in a presenation at my University. I was instantly intrigued by what has happened to Jay and read his story for more details as soon as I got back to my room that night. Such a great story.

I would like to nominate Jay Myers and his book “Keep Swinging”. I read his book and it is a completely different take on a business book. It tells a real life story of what life can throw at you when you least expect it. It also shows how strong of a man Jay Myers is to handle his problems the way he did. This man has written a great book and runs his business with his heart and life lessons. I believe that is why is company is still growing while others are struggleing in the business world of today.

Good Book. This was a very interesting book full of business tips to be sure to look for if you are a business owner. Jay Myers is a person to be admired for how he took his problems and worked like he did to get himself and his company out of what could have been a complete disaster. I read Mr. Myers book and was so totally involved that I did not stop until I was finished. Life is so full of terrible things that can happen to people and the things that they have worked so hard for like Jay’s business. He could have just sat back and let it happen but he didn’t. Jay Myers has written an extremely good business book. It is not the usual book that tells you how to start up a business but a true story of how he started his business and had to fight to keep it alive. He also had health issues a death of a very close family member and an embezzelment to contend with. I read Mr. Myers’ book after I heard him speak at a meeting of an organization that I am a member of. He is a wonderful speaker and his book is really great too.

I enjoyed reading Keep Swinging. It was a definite change of pace to actually be able to enjoy a good book and learn some real life lessons at the same time.

I have passed this book around our office so that it can remind everyone why we work so hard and that this hard work will pay off for us, just as it has for Jay Myers.

“Keep Swinging” has been an inspiration to me as I am studying and hoping to become an entrepreneur. I have also heard him speak on the radio and he seems to be the man that people say he is. Congratulation on your nomination.

The President of our fraternity brought this book to one of our meetings told us about Jay’s story. He left the book in the library and encouraged us to read it. I grabbed it over our fall break to pass time on a road trip and it definitely did more for me than just pass time! Jay’s stories is unlike any I’ve heard/read before. It’s amazing the things he has been through and made his way through the top. He must have some strong shoulders!

I was able to hear Mr. Myer’s give a presentation in one of my business classes. His story is a remarkable one. It’s great to learn his experiences while trying to develop myself into a young professional. I would recommend Keep Swinging to anyone.
